Here it is!

Today is my final practical assessment of my degree! Very much looking forward to a day of dress rehearsal, running around like crazy, moments of sheer panic and then watching our cast and band perform the show that myself and two friends have put together over the past few months. Its crazy how quickly it has come around… time does fly when you’re having fun! I’ve absolutely loved being vocal coach and musical director for this and I’m so proud of the cast and band. For anybody who’s interested in coming along to see our musical adaptation of the film ‘Begin Again’, the show is at 8:15pm in Anselm Studios, Canterbury. Venue details:

Musical Madness!

Here’s a rehearsal-snap of some members of the cast and band in a production I’ve put together with two members of my year at university. We chose to put together a musical adaptation of the film ‘Begin Again’ with music inspiration from ‘Once’ the musical. This production is one of our final assessments to complete our degrees.

My role has been Musical Director and Vocal Coach. It’s been a fantastic experience working with such a talented bunch of people over the past few months! Can’t wait to see the performance next week!

Merry Christmas!

IMG_3716.JPG

“Christmas is the spirit of giving without a thought of getting. It is happiness because we see joy in people. It is forgetting self and finding time for others. It is discarding the meaningless and stressing the true values.”

Thomas S. Monson

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas! I hope you have a wonderful day.

Lots of love and sparkles,

Louise xx

“If you want something, you work hard for it”…

Last weekend ORFILA were asked to play at a Christmas Concert in Folkestone for mine and Abi’s ex piano and music teacher, Mrs Thorogood. She has recently been awarded an MBE for her work in music and teaching. She has inspired us all for so many years, worked us hard and always encouraged us to pursue music as a career.

In our music lessons, I remember she would always say: “If you want something, you work hard for it… and I know you girls will…”. Sometimes you meet someone who will stay with you your whole life no matter where you go. Mrs Thorogood is definitely one of those people in my life. She is one of the most professional, kind-hearted people I have ever met. I’m sure a lot of her students, old and new, would agree that she is a fantastic teacher and we are all extremely lucky and fortunate to have been taught by such a fantastic musician and incredible teacher.
